How Ads can Attack Eachother!

Not only do McCain and Obama debate in a convention, they also have debate outside of such as through commercial ads that we can see. I was looking through some ads from each candidate. the first one i came across was an Obama ad against McCain. It stated a lot facts about McCain and quoted him too. This was pretty much logos that was used in this ad. There was some pathos in it, when they said that we are pretty much being threatend by McCains proposals, and with the facts that they use it surely can make the audience feel that way. On the other hand I saw a very simple McCain ad that was kind of confusing, which was called "who is Barrack Obama"and through out the ad it would show McCain talking nice things about him, that Obama is a nice man, a good citizen, that people shouldn't be afraid be afraid of him.During the time he would say that it would pause and say "should we trust obama" or "who is obama" there wasn't much logo in this case, but there seemed to more pathos and probaly some ethos going on. It made McCain look like a good guy, he is nice enough to defend Obama(which obviously is a stragety). Logos there really wasn't.
The Obama ad was pretty convincing to me, because it gave actual facts about McCain and how he really is threatening us with his proposals. It used good pathos and logos. Now the McCain ad was confusing, fake, because does McCain really want to defend Obama? It can be affective in some way, but not for me. There wasn't much of stated facts, which there should have been. Not only did i see these ads i saw more, and it was the same thing, Obama stating facts against McCain, and McCain somehow defending and not attacking Obama. Weird how these ads work.
