"SUBSERVIENT"

While reading the text i came across a sentence that made some sense in a way, but i didn't quite understand to full extent due to an unfamiliar word i came across on. The word was "SUBSERVIENT" I came across this word when i was reading the third sentence of the second paragraph on page twenty. the word was used as follows "Truth is subservient to power. Power, rightly applied makes truth." This word may be commonly known by others, but i was not sure of its meaning. therefore i looked it up in the dictionary and came across its meaning. The word "subservient" means to be in a position of secondary importance, or helping to achieve something or bring something about. Having known the full meaning of this word helped me appreciate and understand the sentence to a further extent. this lead me to predict that truth is equally important to power, as power rightly managed makes truth.

Yes yes, I had no idea what that word meant either but after reading your blog I became enlightened. I also concur on the fact that its almost impossible to completely understand a message without further research. Good Point.
